Captain Richie Roberts
Captain Richie’s lifelong connection to the water runs deep, rooted in a family tradition that embraced the great outdoors - from hunting in the mountains of Central Virginia to fishing along the shores of Southern Maryland. By the time he reached high school, his passion had narrowed to one pursuit: fishing. What began as a pastime quickly evolved into a calling.
Starting his career as a first mate on the famed Chesapeake Bay, Richie learned from some of the best captains on the water, developing the skills and instincts that would soon define his own success. At just 20 years old, he purchased his first boat and never looked back.
Now with over 40 years of experience and thousands of successful charters to his name, Captain Richie holds a prestigious Masters 100-Ton U.S. Coast Guard License. His deep knowledge of the Bay, unmatched work ethic, and commitment to delivering an exceptional experience make every trip memorable - whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer.
Today, Captain Richie’s legacy continues through his two sons, Jacob and Andrew Roberts, who share his passion for life on the water. Jacob serves as a skilled first mate, while Andrew, also a licensed captain, runs charters for his father and other local captains. Together, they carry forward a family tradition built on hard work, dedication, and a love for the Chesapeake Bay.

Captain Andrew Roberts
Born and raised on the waters of Southern Maryland, Captain Andrew Roberts has spent his life immersed in boating and fishing. Following in his father’s footsteps, Andrew earned his U.S. Coast Guard 100-Ton Master’s License and has been a licensed captain for more than eight years. His time on the Chesapeake Bay has shaped him into a skilled and dependable waterman with a deep respect for the Bay and its traditions.
When he’s not running charter trips, Andrew works for the Maryland Pilots Association, where he captains the pilot boats that safely transport ship pilots to and from large commercial vessels navigating the Chesapeake Bay. His experience in both charter and commercial maritime operations gives him a well-rounded expertise and calm confidence on the water that his guests truly appreciate.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife, Karlee, and their new baby girl, Mackenzie, who are quickly becoming part of the family’s proud legacy on the water.

First Mate Kevin Logan
Born and raised in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, First Mate Kevin Logan has been part of the Marcy Lynn crew for over 20 years. His passion for the outdoors was inspired by his father, who shared his love of fishing and introduced Kevin to the water at a young age.
Two decades ago, Kevin’s father was fishing with Captain Richie when Richie asked Kevin if he’d like to come aboard as first mate and the rest is history. Kevin credits Richie for teaching him everything he knows about being a professional charter fisherman, from the fine details of rigging lines to creating unforgettable experiences for guests.
When he’s not on the water, Kevin dedicates his time to Buck Distributing, where he’s also proudly worked for 20 years. His work ethic, reliability, and people skills shine both on and off the boat. He’s also CPR certified in the state of Maryland, ensuring safety remains a top priority during every trip.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys spending time outdoors with his father, hunting, cooking, and sharing meals with family and friends. His deep appreciation for nature and community make him an invaluable part of the Marcy Lynn team and a favorite among returning guests.
