Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb rockfish fillets

  • 2 tbsp blackening seasoning (or mix paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas

For the slaw:

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage

  • ¼ cup mayo

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro

  • Salt to taste

For topping:

  • Diced avocado, pico de gallo, or a drizzle of chipotle mayo

Directions:

  1. Mix slaw ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

  2. Rub the fish with olive oil and blackening seasoning.

  3. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook fish for about 3–4 minutes per side, until blackened and flaky.

  4. Warm tortillas, flake the fish, and assemble tacos with slaw and toppings.

Flavor Tip: Add a squeeze of fresh lime and a pinch of sea salt right before serving — it makes the flavors pop.
